Rapid Prototyping FAQQ. How long will it take to get my quote?
A. We do not believe in a fast food mentality when it comes to your parts. We expect that the rapid prototypes you order are the first of many steps. Therefore we do not have an automated instant quote process. We prefer a more complete quote process, something that cannot be provided through electronic means only. That being said request for quotes are guaranteed in 24 hours.
Q. What file type’s do you require?
A. SLA, IGES, STP are the most common formats we utilize.
Q. What if I do not have a solid model of my part? What if I only have a drawing or a sample I need reverse engineered?
A. This is not a problem and can sometimes be beneficial as it allows us to incorporate those features that make the part more cost effective to produce, thus saving you money.
Q. What should I expect to pay for my prototypes?
A. CPM Fastools basis its Rapid Prototype cost on the volume and size of the parts. The machines themselves run unattended and therefore have very low overheads, that we pass along to the customer.
